Tools and Materials Needed
- 101 Sonalert Assembly (Spare) (#109075)
- Phillips Screwdriver
- Pliers (if required)
Instructions
For Mk2 Water Level Meters (Push-Release Tape Connection)
- Remove the battery. Unscrew the three screws and remove the faceplate.
- Press down on the white terminals of the push-release fittings on the circuit board and pull out to remove the tape leads.
- Unscrew the Sonalert retaining ring from the front of the faceplate. Push out the old Sonalert.
- Unscrew the two screws holding the Sonalert to the circuit board (watch for proper connection/polarity). Remove the Sonalert from the circuit board.
- Insert the new Sonalert through the faceplate and fasten the retaining ring until finger tight. Ensure the Sonalert is positioned as shown in the photos below.
Sonalert Connections – Mk2 with New Style Light
Sonalert Connections – Mk2 with Older Style Light
- Use the two screws to connect the wires from the circuit board (and light if you have the older style – see above) to the new Sonalert. Make sure the wires are connected to the correct terminals (+ve and -ve) on the Sonalert.
- Reconnect the tape to the circuit board. Press down on the white terminals on the circuit board and insert the tape leads. Release the terminals and the leads should be secured. The lead on the top of the tape (numbers facing up, or see note) is inserted into the terminal with a white square below it on the circuit board.
- Install the battery and test the Water Level Meter to ensure the connection are correct.
- Reattach the faceplate to the reel using the three screws.
Note:
There is a "P" etched on the tape to help denote the proper orientation of the tape – top and bottom leads.
Instructions
For Mk1 Water Level Meters (Molex Tape Connection)
- Remove the battery. Unscrew the three screws and remove the faceplate.
- Disconnect the Molex connector that connects the circuit board to the tape.
- Unscrew the Sonalert retaining ring from the front of the faceplate. Push out the old Sonalert.
- Unscrew the two screws holding the Sonalert to the circuit board (watch for proper connection/polarity). Remove the Sonalert from the circuit board.
- Use the pliers to bend the connection terminals on the new Sonalert inwards by 90º. Use the old Sonalert you are replacing as a reference.
- Insert the new Sonalert through the faceplate and fasten the retaining ring until finger tight. Ensure the Sonalert is positioned as shown in the photo below.
Sonalert Connections – Mk1
