Video: How to Construct CMT Monitoring Ports
A video has been posted that shows the steps for constructing monitoring ports in the Solinst CMT Multilevel Groundwater Monitoring System. CMT Systems are very flexible, allowing ports to be constructed wherever required, one in each of the 7 or 3 channels, depending on the system. CMT Systems can be designed and constructed right on site; two people can complete a 7-Channel CMT System, in less than 3 hours. Once constructed, CMT Systems provide depth discrete groundwater monitoring.

Blog Post: Accounting For Altitude When Compensating Levelogger Data
Atmospheric pressure can be considered the total weight of air above an object at any elevation. As you go higher in the atmosphere, there is less air above to weigh down the object. This translates to decreasing pressure as you go higher in the atmosphere.
So, what does this mean for Leveloggers and/or Barologgers recording at different elevations? Read the post in the Solinst ON THE LEVEL blog to find out how data compensation can be easily done using the Levelogger Software Data Wizard, or manually with a simple equation.

Solinst Posts Tape and Cable Splice Instructional Videos
Solinst Water Level Meter tapes and cables are designed to be durable, and built to last, but sometimes they can be nicked on a sharp well casing, or get stuck down well. Because of this, Solinst provides options to repair their tapes and cables.
Recently, Solinst has posted a video that demonstrates how to splice a Model 101 Water Level Meter or Model 107 TLC Meter flat tape, as well as a video that walks you through splice instructions for the Model 102 Water Level Meter coaxial cable. Both repair options use simple crimps, and do not require any soldering.

Solinst Bladder Pump Video Demonstrates Operating Principles
Solinst has posted a video that shows how the Model 407 Bladder Pump obtains a representative groundwater sample. This very helpful animated video shows how the Bladder Pump is set up using a dedicated wellhead, the 12V Compressor for air supply, and the Model 464 Electronic Pump Control Unit.
As the video runs through a number of "drive/vent" cycles, the operating principles of the Bladder Pump are clearly shown. The bladder eliminates drive gas from contacting the groundwater sample, ensuring no release of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) during sampling. Solinst Bladder Pumps are also specifically designed to gently squeeze the bladder, to not disturb the groundwater sample, resulting in a representative sample at surface.

Solinst Releases New Mini Interface Meter
Solinst is pleased to announce the release of a new version of the Model 122M Mini Interface Meter, which features a narrow PVDF cable. The PVDF cable is very durable and easy to decontaminate. It is available in 80 ft. or 25 m lengths, precisely laser marked every 1/100 ft. or mm, certified traceable to national standards. The cable comes on a portable reel, compact so it fits in a backpack.
Like the recently released Model 122 Standard Interface Meter, the new 122M Mini also features redesigned electronics and a 5/8" (16 mm) dia. probe that is pressure-proof up to 500 psi. Meters are certified intrinsically safe for use in explosive environments, and are ATEX certified. The 122M Mini Interface Meter with narrow polyethylene flat tape, 65 ft. and 20 m lengths, is also an option.

BioBailers Now Available in 1.5" and 3/4" Diameters
Model 428 BioBailers are a more environmentally friendly option for groundwater sampling – and now Solinst is offering both 1.5" and 3/4" diameter sizes.
BioBailers™ are made of clear PVC that biodegrades when discarded in a landfill. The high quality material still allows BioBailers to meet the same standards as other PVC bailers, including VOC sampling.
BioBailers feature a high quality design that is easy to use. They have a sturdy handle and a convenient opening for a bailer cord (or a Solinst Model 103 Tag Line). BioBailers are transparent, allowing you to view the sample water.
The larger bailers have a 1.5" x 3 ft. (38 mm x 91.5 cm) body and hold over 1 liter of sample. The 3/4" x 3 ft. (19 mm x 91.5 cm) bailers hold 200 mL of sample. Each bailer comes with a sample release device, which is also biodegradable, along with all packaging material.
