Solinst High Quality Groundwater Monitoring Instruments

Solinst High Quality Groundwater Monitoring Instruments are designed to obtain surface or ground water samples, continuous or manual water level measurements and recordings of concentrations of various water parameters. The data collected can be used to estimate hydraulic conductivity and other aquifer conditions; to monitor potable water recharge areas; and to monitor tailings ponds, dewatering activities and water supply levels of mines.

Solinst equipment is used to monitor groundwater for general site investigations and for contaminant plume monitoring on: spill sites, remediation sites, chemical storage facilities, landfill sites and hazardous waste storage sites.

Level Measurement Devices

Solinst provides various Water Level Measurement Devices, such as Water Level Meters, Interface Meters, Temperature Meters, Profilers, Oil Water Interface Meters, Well Casing Indicators, DrawDown Meters, Tag Lines, and Power Winders for small to medium-sized reels.

Dataloggers and Telemetry

Solinst Dataloggers and Telemetry Systems are designed to work together, providing our customers with accurate, barometrically compensated water level data for either localized or remote water monitoring applications. We have absolute or vented water level datalogger options available.

Groundwater Samplers

Solinst carries a wide range of groundwater samplers, to help sample for general chemistry, volatiles and metals. If you need low flow, high flow, purging or grab sampling, we have the groundwater sampler. Whatever your needs are, Solinst has a groundwater sampler to meet them.

Direct Push Equipment

Solinst Direct Push Equipment range includes stainless steel drive point piezometers at various lengths and fitting options. We also have PVC standpipe piezometers ideal for metals sampling. Our latest addition includes a Multilevel Drive Point Piezometer where you can monitor up to 6 discrete monitoring zones simultaneously.

Multilevel Systems

multilevel system is a groundwater instrument, which allows the monitoring of a number of discrete groundwater zones within a single borehole. The system typically consists of seals and ports, which are placed at varying depths along a casing string, effectively isolating and providing access to each monitoring interval.

Enhanced Biodegradation

Waterloo Emitter is a simple, low cost device designed for the bioremediation of contaminated groundwater.  The controlled release of oxygen and various other amendments encourage and sustain the growth of microorganisms required for bioremediation.

Assessing Coastal Flood Vulnerability to Sea Level Rise Enhanced by Extreme Events in Preferential Flow Pathways

Community resilience in the face of sea level rise and extreme events, such as atmospheric rivers and highest astronomical tides (HAT), is a pressing concern for coastal regions worldwide, including coastal California. James Jacobs, a PhD candidate researcher at the University of California Santa Cruz and experienced hydrogeologist, is investigating whether utility…

Assessing Low-Temperature Geothermal Potential with Temperature Logging

With the growing need and interest in using clean or carbon-free energy, the Polish Geological Institute—National Research Institute (Polish Geological Survey) conducted a study to assess the potential for low-temperature geothermal energy in the country. The research was carried out…

Polish Mining Institute Finds Levelogger Data Ideal For Precise Hydrogeological Monitoring

Researchers at the Institute of Open Cast Mining in Poland (Poltegor-Instytut) performed several studies to determine the suitability of Solinst Levelogger water Level dataloggers for hydrogeological monitoring of their mining operations. Through pumping tests and other studies, they showed…

Levelogger Data Critical For Water and Leachate Management At A Queensland Landfill

After a significant rainfall event in early 2022, it was found that groundwater levels at a landfill site in southeast Queensland, Australia had risen several metres above any previously recorded levels. As such, the operators of the landfill contracted Anderson Consulting to assist with site planning…

Kootenay Watershed Science Expands Program To Include Alpine Lake Monitoring

Kootenay Watershed Science (KWS) is a community-driven project that was spurred into action by concern over climate change impacts and the lack of watershed monitoring in the Kootenay region. Along with its parent organization, Living Lakes Canada, a water stewardship NGO whose work was founded…

Reclaiming And Remediating Abandoned Mine Drainage For Clean Water Use

Coal mining began in Pennsylvania over 250 years ago, and today it still supplies 60 per cent of the fuel for the state’s electric power generation—the fourth largest coal-producing state in the U.S. Despite efforts such as the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act (SMCRA, 1977), over 5000 miles…
